Arvel's leadership and entrepreneurial spirit represent the fundamental driving force behind the creation and growth of NewsPage. Under his direction, the company has grown to a fifty-person organization, with a presence in Singapore and Malaysia. With his vision of 'being the global leader in mobility applications', NewsPage has delivered the benefits of wireless solutions to numerous international companies in the courier, logistics, fast moving consumer goods, telecommunications, service and financial industries. Prior to his appointment at NewsPage, he worked at Hewlett-Packard (HP) in the PDA division. His management experience spanned across the functions of engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and distribution. His work with the global companies in the state-of-the-art electronic component and materials technologies, helped contribute to HP's pole position as a pioneer in the PDA market. Arvel received a degree in Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and graduated with honours from the National University of Singapore. |
Chia Kay MingChief Technical Officer

Together with Arvel, Kay Ming founded NewsPage. During NewsPage's early years, he was in charge of technology and product development initiatives and was actively involved in developing mobile businesses. Kay Ming provides the link between technical know-how, applicability of technologies and integrates these with business opportunities. Prior to founding NewsPage, Kay Ming served as Research & Development Project Manager at Hewlett Packard. As his expertise lay in the development of palmtops, PDAs calculators and PC localization, Kay Ming gained valuable knowledge into the Palmtop and Mobile computing space. At HP, Kay Ming was responsible for the successful implementation of the Chinese-enabled HP100LX palmtop computer, the world's first Chinese Palmtop Computer in 1992. Kay Ming received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 1985 and a Bachelor of Engineering with honors in 1987 from the University of New South Wales, Australia. |
Yoon Weng TimChief Executive Officer

Tim joined NewsPage in July 2002 as VP of the Mobility Applications Unit with responsibility for Asia, including global accounts originating from Asia. In April 2004, he was appointed CEO and has since taken over the daily operations at NewsPage. Prior to joining NewsPage, Tim was working as Chief Technical Officer with e-Business Exchange. Tim was responsible for the technical and sales/project engagement/professional services teams where he created and built a B2B electronic bill presentment/payment solution and marketed the solution to the finance sector. Tim built the team from four to four hundred people and was key to e-Business Exchange becoming the first Asian company to have IBM selling its products worldwide. Tim's professional experience began with Intel's software Group in Malaysia in 1992 where he led the Research and Development/software development team. During the five years that he was with Intel, Tim gained strong experience in the areas of software configuration management, software process management, change request management and quality assurance. Tim received a degree in Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics, graduating with First Class Honors from the University of Leicester UK in 1992. |
Serene NeoProject Director

Serene has been with NewsPage since July 2002. She is responsible for all technical operations within NewsPage, including the Professional Services, Technical Delivery and Support divisions. Prior to joining NewsPage, Serene was leading a big development team at e-Business Exchange which under her supervision, has succesfully developed a series of world class Electronic Invoice Presentment and Payment products, for the financial sector. She also led a professional services team that have succesfully implemented these products to many top tier global financial institutions in Europe and Asia. Serene received an honours degree in Bachelor of Computer Science from University Science Malaysia. |
